The Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA") gives you, as a data subject, specific rights over your personal information. This page explains those rights and how to exercise them against LTV Labs SA (Pty) Ltd.
1. Your rights under POPIA
Right to access (Section 23)
You have the right to know whether LTV Labs holds personal information about you, and to request a copy of that information. We will provide a description of the information held, the purpose for which it is held, and the identity of any third parties to whom it has been disclosed.
Right to correction or deletion (Section 24)
If personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, incomplete, misleading, or obtained unlawfully, you may request that we correct or delete it. We will act on a valid request within 30 days.
Right to object (Section 11(3))
You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal information where that processing is based on legitimate interest. We will honour your objection unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or where the processing is necessary for legal claims.
Right to withdraw consent
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing that took place before the withdrawal.
Right to complain to the Regulator
If you believe your rights have been infringed, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa:

2. Who can submit a request
A POPIA request may be submitted by:
- The data subject themselves
- A person duly authorised in writing to act on behalf of the data subject
- A guardian acting on behalf of a minor data subject
- An executor or administrator of a deceased data subject's estate
3. How to submit a POPIA request
Step 1 — Prepare your request
Include your full name, email address, and a description of the information you are requesting access to (or the correction / deletion you are requesting). For deletion requests, specify whether you want all data erased or only specific categories.
Step 2 — Submit via email
Send your written request to our Information Officer at info@ltvlabs.co.za. Use the subject line: "POPIA Request — [Your Name]".
Step 3 — Identity verification
We may ask you to verify your identity before actioning your request. This is to protect you from unauthorised disclosure. Acceptable proof includes a copy of a valid South African ID document or passport.
Step 4 — Response within 30 days
We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and respond fully within 30 days. If we cannot fulfil your request (e.g. due to a legal retention obligation), we will explain why in writing.
4. Specific notes for LTV Labs customers
If you are a user or administrator of an LTV Labs Customer account, your personal information is held by us as a Responsible Party (controller), and you may exercise all POPIA rights directly against us.
If you are an end-contact (a person whose data was imported by an LTV Labs Customer business), the business that imported your data is the Responsible Party for it under POPIA, not LTV Labs. LTV Labsprocesses your data only as an Operator (processor) on that business's documented instructions. Accordingly:
- Direct your POPIA request to the relevant business in the first instance — they are legally accountable for responding under POPIA Sections 23 to 25.
- The business is responsible for the lawful basis on which your data was collected, the privacy notice you should have received, and any opt-in consent for WhatsApp marketing.
- LTV Labs does not independently make decisions about your data; we only execute the instructions of the Customer business.
- If you cannot identify or reach the business, contact us at info@ltvlabs.co.za and we will assist in routing your request appropriately.
5. Opt-out from WhatsApp marketing
If you are receiving WhatsApp messages from a business using LTV Labs and wish to opt out, reply with the word STOP to any message. Your number will be flagged as opted-out immediately and no further marketing messages will be sent by that business through LTV Labs.
To confirm your opt-out has been recorded or to report continued contact after opting out, email info@ltvlabs.co.za.
